Chapter Four - A New Day

"Yep, great place to hide a body" he asked.

Chariot follows her up the ladder

As you reach the top you find yourselves inside a big heavyset wooden fence, and as Morgan unbolts the gate you are met with a seemingly endless expanse of wilderness.

Hedges, foliage ans trees tower high above all around, and the faint sounds of water slosh at banks in the distance. Nocternal birds, bats and other wildlife screech and caw in the darkness illuminated only by distant streetlamps and the moon and stars above you.

"Its this way..." Morgan says, giving a small gesture and walking off down a dirt and gravel pathway, off into the darkness of the trees.

John looks about "Are we in Naria?" he asked seeming a wee bit confused.

Morgan chuckles. "No. This is the wetland centre" she says semi-bluntly.

"humm, I thinking date location nice picnic?" he said looking to trust.

"It is lovely"

John smiled "It's a date then" he said.

Chariot looks around for spooky vampires while his friends flirt. Gross!

The area is teeming with life; birds, small mamals, pondlife all around. There are no other vampires.

You all walk and eventually leave the trees. In the distance is the south london skyline, and between you and it is a vast wetland. Pathways move with the grounds seeming to blend as though completely natural, despite their being gravel and quite well trodden. Along one of these pathways which lies between two small lakes sits a large tower, octagonal in form and with hatches and slits cut and boarded into its sides.

Morgan heads straight for it.

John follows.

She takes you to the tower structure and then pulls out a key. Unlocking the bolts securing the tower doors closed she opens it up, and heads inside into the pitch darkness leaving the door open for you all to enter at your leisure.

John contuned to follow "Isn't there any light in here?" he asked.

"No" Morgan says. "This tower is a hide built for full 360 views of the wetland. Its locked up during dak hours so theres no need for light. And besides a light would disturb the wildlife" she explains.

John sighed "Well I hope that the floor is clear at least" he said moving slowily like the army train you to over unstable ground.

Morgan looks at John and then continues on inwards.

You all hear a door being unlocked and unbolted, and then moments later it squeaks open on uts hinges.

"Down here" she says heading inside. Through the darkness you each see faint light emenating from what seems to be a service hatch providing access to a lower level of the tower. Once shes disappeared down the hole, you then hear her voice.

"Andrew... Its Morgan..."

John follows.

Trust followed and listens for a response.

After a few moments you hear shuffling.

"Andrew... Its ok. You can open up" Morgan says.

Moments later another door unbolts and Morgan gently pushes it open. The room is dimly lit and you can each see a figure hunched and moving away from the door. At his feet are the ghosts of many rats scurrying in patterned circles, fleeing and then returning to their gentle pace as though stuck in a loop of action.

Trust observed the rats but said nothing.

John walked on but did say anything.

As 'strangers' enter the space the figure flees to the other end of the room in panic.

"Hey, Andrew wait its ok. They're not gonna hurt you, you trust me. Right?"

The figure cowers a little and then gives a small nod.
