Chapter one

"Only crazy things i noted were the apparant lack of values she had for vintage and antique decor. That house was beautiful before she started ripping out its features" Joycelin comments with a slight disbelieving chuckle.

She uses her foot to move the chairs to make space for John and Trust to move the drinks over.

John sits down "there you all go" he said handing out drinks.

"Thanks" Chariot says, then he scrutinises the drink before calmly declaring "awesome"

Trust starts sipping her drink. "Lovely".

Joycelin looks over the array of awesome colloured beverages and picks up her beer. "I must admit those do look pretty good... But i think for now i'm gonna stuck with one of these" she says with a gracious smile. "More comforting for the other half and me" she then adds as she goes to take a sip.

John steals her beer "Ah thats mine sorry" he moves the Rum over "thats yours" he said.

Chariot takes a drink "Pretty good... but anyway... you guys have any questions about Lacey?" he asked Trust and John

"Well whay do you know about her?" Trust asked.

Joycelin doesnt look pleased with John. She then looks over to the bar. "Hey Ben, beer me" she calls. The barman then nods and sets about pouring.

"Not much. Relatively short lady, quite young. Twenties. Bit of a mouthy cow if you ask me but thats what the area likes. Class has long since departed the area" she says.

"You said rum?" he stated.

"And her partner?".

"Rum-cask beer, beer brewed in rum casks. But the rum is fine too" she says picking up the glass and sipping it.

She then looks to Trust. "Nice guy. Quiet which is why he was relatively unknown in comparrison i suppose. An accountant i think."

"A wearer of strong cologne?"

"Not that i noticed but then again i only met him once. There are lots of men in the area that bathe in aftershave though, they seem to think it makes them more attractive. Who knows what happened to a winning smile and a slice of charm" Joycelin says with a small grin and a slight wink at Trust.

"I'm much more receptive to the crack of a whip myself" she playfully rebuffed.

"We're planning to check out the property soon. Is there anything we should know?"

Joycelin rolls her eyes as though to look at herself. "Better luck next time pal" she chuckles.

She then pulls out a little book from her jacket pocket. It seems quite old, almost antique and the cover is tatty and tied on with string, but its stuffed with pieces of paper.

She takes one out and opens it. "This is an old article from a few years ago out of a paranormal magazine when the council took, or rather, forced ownership of the house. No one would touch it. Some people took the chance before it was boarded up to check it out."

She points to a corner of a picture.

Trust will look through the provided article and the picture. (Picture first).

The picture is rather grainy. But there is the clear image of a man in period clothing sat in a wingback chair looking into the empty fireplace.

"so there s a ghost there...huh" john muttered before drinking some of his pint.

"Seems so" Trust said, reading the article.

Joycelin gives a half sure shrug. "My guess is yes, but it's not him. When this photo was taken he was alive, the group were trying to make big in paranormal circles, they've since become renowned fakers and now no one takes them seriously. In all honesty nothing seemed special about this house up until the past few years. I've lived local for a long time and I know the Finchley and Hampstead areas better than most. I think something has happened to make a ghost, but it's hard to say what. All I know is this man is also missing" she says tapping the picture again with her finger.

The barman at this point brings over the other drink and leaves just as quickly.

The article itself talks about an elderly man haunting the decaying ruins of an Edwardian house, and how he is gentle as long as you don't touch his things with malice.

"So three poeple are missing, all have been in that house how very odd" he mused having another drink.

Joycelin nods. "Yes except only Lacey is registered with missing persons. As far as the police are concerned so far according to Evan's contacts Danial has simply run off and this man here hasn't crossed their radar. That makes me wonder a few things" she says picking up her rum to finish it.

"so we go to the house see what we can find, try and track down these two and with luck everyone's alive a well" John stated.

"Here's hoping" Trust said, handing the article to Chariot. "Though things rarely work out well in these cases".
